Where is Mantigue Island in Camiguin?

Mantigue Island sits just 3.5 kilometers off the coast in the town of Mahinog and is way bigger than White Island. The island is easily accessible through a short boat ride from the designated departure area.

How to Get to Mantigue Island?

If you’re staying in Mambajao, you’ll need to drive to San Roque port in the municipality of Mahinog, where the departure area to Mantigue Island is located, about 30 minutes away.

Upon arrival, head straight to the departure area. Mantigue Island’s opening hours are from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM daily.

Although the island itself remains open until 5:30 PM, no boats will depart after 2:00 PM, so it is highly recommended to arrive at the departure area well before the cut-off time.

As of 2025, the entrance fee costs ₱75 or $1.30 per person. You will also have to pay an additional ₱30 or $0.50 per person for environmental fee.

The boat fare to Mantigue Island is ₱750 or approximately $13.00 per trip, good for up to 6 people. If you’re traveling solo, you can split the cost with other passengers assigned to the same boat to save a bit of cash while making new friends along the way.

What to Expect Before You Go to Mantigue Island

During our Camiguin trip, one of the highlights from our itinerary was visiting Mantigue Island.

It was truly one-of-a-kind, with stunning turquoise waters and a perfect view of Mount Hibok-Hibok right in the background, which will tempt you to snap several photos!

One of the main activities that you can do on Mantigue Island is snorkeling so make sure to bring a snorkel with you. There are stores around the departure area where you can rent a snorkel for ₱100 or approximately $2.00.

Unlike White Island, there are trees here where you can take a shade right after a dip in the water. There are also cottages available in the island as well where you can pay a rental fee.

We truly enjoyed Mantigue Island and I highly recommend to include this to your itinerary to your Camiguin Island trip!
